inspiration

Brigitte shows us jeans & t-shirts don't get sexier than this. i think this is THE template for the Calvin Klein-esque ad campaigns we've seen

the lost art of eccentricity. Roberto Rossellini. The socks, the patterns, the glasses, the tattoo - i could see an "it" kid from Shibuya all over this style

old is new

the original. smoking hot

here's the same look on Anna Paquin recently. this is herve leroux.

be a man

carrying off something tight, loose, high-end or low-rent has to do with your build but most importantly your 'tude. i mean, look at Hank. could those pants work on anyone else? rock it and see the results.

dude fashion

mens fashion should be the equivalent to a book that's a good beach read. as in, dependable, appealing and not too esoteric. sorry, but nothing is hotter than a man that looks like, well, a man. now to me, growing up in l.a. in the 80's that's kinda skater, surf (as in Jimmy'z and OP) a little punk rock (long time owned rock/band t-shirts) and a little Cholo (dickies pants and Carhart canvas jackets).
now i do know guys that can wear MY pants and still look sexy and almost entirely heterosexual (shout out Dee Asbergers, I reserve the right to take back my Levis Stay-Prest at any time).

i like to thrift with that aesthetic in mind

thrifted this red plaid shirt for $4, Salvation Army. love the pocket work

it's pretty easy to find western shirts at well-edited vintage places like Wasteland but i love the thrill of the find in cheap thrift stores. still can't bring myself to spend $26 on a Black Flag t-shirt either

harry pottered

when i was leaving the parking lot at the Laemmle the parking lot dude said i looked like Harry Potter. funny! i guess it was the scarf?

navy blazer, Theory. thrifted (with hideous matching pants) in North Hollywood
white silk blouse, Banana Republic sale rack
yellow wool cheerleader skirt, Benetton, thrifted in Pasadena
burgundy pashmina, my mom's
silver chain necklace, thrifted from who knows where
gray suede foldover boots, Dolce Vita, bought on sale in NYC, in the dead of summer
