i love this dress.  it's so easy to look amazing when you're spending tons of cash but i think this dress is so well accessorized. kind of punk rock judy jetson.  i am sure this is some consulting editor tastemaker for italian vogue that descended from greatness and when she wants inspiration she just raids her mothers closet and finds custom Alaia and yves saint laurent (the yves stays bitches).  eye roll.  who are these women?  still, she looks great.
i think the take away is pairing the bright yellow with shades of mauve.  that unexpected juxtaposition keeps it modern and not too costume-y.  If you want a latex dress, Syren in Silverlake can make a seriously awesome custom dress for about $450. not sure if kim kardash killed that look but you know if you can pull it off.  if you want a vintage leather dress on a budget - i mean one that doesn't make you look like dolly parton's sassy road manager - that's going to be harder.  the 80s were not a kind time for shoulders in leather design - leather dolman sleeves are a complicated thing most of us mortals should avoid.  same said for leather pleating.  to fix this problem, look to buy new...  when you see something like this on a street style blog or in Elle, take a look at Zara as they often do a good fashion-y knockoff of popular seasonal statement pieces.
